Art Classes

1) Fun & Easy Creative Workshops

2) Specific Focus Workshops

The Specific Focus Workshops deal with specific categories of art and go deeper into develop- ment of technical skills. They can also be more long term lessons that last for several weeks or months, depending on how much the student wants to learn.

Working From Photos You Send Me

If you want a rock animal portrait you need to give me several photos. You need to give me photos of both sides of the animal, including the back side tail area. Make sure the legs and paws are showing too. Make sure the photos are fairly close up, not blurry or too small. And I need one good facial photo like the one of the cat shown above.

Regular Portrait

These two photos show both sides of the dog so I clearly see the spot patterns and the tail.

If you want a regular portrait and not a rock animal portrait, you need to give me a close up of the face that is clear and not blurry, showing details of the fur, like these two.

Rock Animal Portraits

It is helpful if you can give me a photo of the animal in a circled up position (top left) because that is how I will be painting it on the rock.

Always include one close up photo of the face like the one on the right above.

The Story of Dirty Harry the Service Dog

I received a commission to do two portraits of a special dog who is also a service dog for her owner. Dirty Harry has a special talent. He can predict when his owner is going to have a seizure. I created his likeness as a colored pencil & Turpenoid portrait and as a rock animal.
